You Can Never Out Earn Your Mindset
My friend Tony Rush of Liberty League always comes up with some gems of wisdom well worth sharing. The following is another thought provoking revelation.......
Here's something to chew on:
Two people are in the same company, market the same product and use the same pay plan. They run the same ads, use the same script, use the same presentation and the same support system. How, then, can you explain that one of them is earning a large income and the other one can't break even?
The answer is very simple but most people never consider it. It's simply this: you can never out-earn your own mindset
I agree that you should spend your time modeling your activities after people who are getting results. No question about it. The simplest way to reach your goal is to find someone who's done it and emulate their activities.
But it's not enough.
Because, ultimately, the factor that determines the amount of success you will have is your own mindset. For example, if someone has a $30,000 mindset and you give them a million dollar business opportunity.....
...well, they'll just take the million-dollar business opportunity and go make $30,000 with it.
That's why modeling someone's activities is only a partial solution. Ultimately, the only way to increase your income is to change the quality of your thinking. Or, as Jim Rohn says, "work harder on yourself than you do on your career".
Think about it. This is true in every area of life. Does anyone honestly believe that a 500k earner is working TEN times harder than a 50k earner? Of course not. He's probably working less. The 500k earner is not usually 10 times smarter than a 50k person, either.
And while you usually CAN find some mechanical or logistical reasons why their earnings are so different....it all comes back to their mindset.
Here's something to consider: has it ever occurred to you that Donald Trump could never be 'just a millionaire'? Why? Because his financial thermostat is set for billions. And although he's had his ups and downs, its inarguable that he's a huge thinker. And it shows in his income.
Oprah Winfrey could never "just earn $100,000 per year". Her mindset is geared for millions. If she lost it all today, she'd probably be a millionaire again within 12 months. Her mindset is tuned to that.
Where's your mindset tuned? Are you playing small? Are you focusing ONLY on the mechanical side of the business and ignoring the essential part of you that ultimately creates your abundance?
If you're committed to success, it's definitely worth thinking about. Mechanics alone aren't enough.
